Abstract:

During this webinar, a group of thought leaders will discuss the insights gained from a recent survey conducted by TEKsystems and HIMSS Analytics exploring the current state of EHR implementations, how organizations are achieving end user EHR adoption and what it takes for a successful implementation and usage of EHR applications.  More specifically, the discussion will focus on the findings related to how “the right personnel with the right skills”, impactful end user training, involving end user in the decision making processes and continuing support of end users after EHR “go-live” will positively impact the implementation and adoption of EHRs in hospitals.

Join HIMSS Analytics as we discuss findings from our new research study that explores the barriers and challenges that clinicians in Canada experience as they continue their transition from paper-based to electronic medical records.  The study, which draws on in-depth interviews with healthcare IT leaders from across the country, spotlights how clinicians in Canada are overcoming challenges and using computerized records effectively to provide high-quality care.  Topics explored in the webinar will include the ways in which Canadian hospitals are striving to streamline access to data, the role that mobile devices are playing in data access now and in the future, and the benefits that are being realized as a result of the streamlined data access.  Jeff Weeks, CIO at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, will also discuss how he is addressing these issues at his organization.
